Illustrated History

Currently this project is on hold, although we are producing comedy video and audio. The Aether Brigade Illustrated History is on hold due to a lack of funding: sadly, our illustrator must spend her days doing artwork for Trader Joe’s instead. Consider supporting us on Patreon to get it rolling again! If we can get our Patreon campaign funded to the “Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder” level we can resume creation.

Is this for children?

No. The Aether Brigade incorporates many adult themes including violence, sex, alcoholism and other drug abuse, torture, morally bankrupt science, death, as well as taxes. (Actually, probably not that last one, but we aren’t prepared to rule that out.) Children who have discovered us tend to be enthusiastically curious and so we if the resources became available we would start a version aimed at children, but our passion is the adult-oriented, extended story of our twisted failure of a crew.

Who hath wrought this thing?

The pencil, pen and ink was done by Gwynn Tavares. The colourist is Rosie Packwood (and yes, we spelled it like that because she is British). Currently, there are dozens of scripts written by Gwynn Tavares and Corey Holden and much, much more outlined in detail. The Aether Brigade was created by Corey Holden. We work with our performance troupe to develop the characters and the story further.

Why didn’t it keep going?

Currently this project is on hold, although we are producing comedy video and audio. We are poor artists who are only just barely doing better than starving.

Leave a comment, Like us on Facebook, send us an email at [email protected], anything! Just tell us what you liked about it and stroke our poor bruised egos a little. They don’t bite… usually.

Patreon is a crowdsourcing platform, like Kickstarter but instead of funding one massive project, it allows you to set up a regular tip to artists you love. 3) Donate to the Aether Brigade directly via PayPal:
You may be aware that our performances and artwork is often produced at no charge to the audience. We are bad at asking for money, but every little bit helps. Even tossing us $5 is a huge help on our budget.

Where is all this going?

We have a tremendous amount of story planned. There is easily enough for 5 full story arcs (5 graphic novels worth) and probably quite a lot more. If we can get our Patreon campaign funded to the “Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder” level, or we get enough of donations via PayPal, we can resume creation. If we can get the funding to resume, what will happen is that we will continue to release it in full color, for free, here and, in addition, release it in print when there is enough to fill a book or five, but it will always remain free and up-to-date here.
